This distinctive penthouse apartment, which is one of only four in this small development of 88 properties, is well-suited to almost any kind of holiday. The peaceful and idyllic location of Isla Canela, complete with stunning beaches makes it a perfect hideaway, just the spot to float away all the cares of the world.
At the same time, its proximity to cultural hotspots such as Seville make it an ideal centre for touring and sight seeing, while the nearby golf courses offer great opportunities for golfers, and the vast sandy beaches are fantastic for kids as well as sunbathers.
Summary of the Penthouse Apartment:
The living area comprises app. 120sqm, and the huge, private and unoverlooked terrace is approximately 260sqm. There are 3 double bedrooms, two of which open on to the terrace, and two bathrooms. All rooms in the apartment are light and airy. In addition, part of the terrace has been glazed to create a separate dining room.
The master bedroom contains a large Kingsize bed with ensuite bathroom and patio doors on to the terrace. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third two singles.
This a good size, and is excellently equipped, with kettle, toaster, hob, oven, microwave, coffee-maker and dishwasher, as well as a good range of crockery, cutlery and utensils. There is a large fridge-freezer, and adequate storage space. Just off the kitchen is a utility room containing a washing machine, iron and ironing board.
The Large Terrace:
The terrace has astonishing views across gardens to the gorgeous beach and sparkling sea. Not for nothing is the area called the Coast of Light. At the rear of the terrace you overlook the protected wetlands and a tributary of the River Guadiana, where a large number of native birds can usually be spotted.
There is a good selection of terrace furniture and the option of sunny spots or shaded ones depending on your preference. The outdoor Jacuzzi immediately by your French windows is a great place to wind down after a day of sun and sightseeing, and the BBQ or electric hotpalete offer an excellent alternative to dining out. Mouthwatering fresh fish, meat and vegetables for the bbq are readily available from the morning market in Ayamonte.
This year we have added a garden to the terrace in the form of a number of raised beds. There is even a lemon tree.
The development itself is the smallest to date in Isla Canela, and is set in a secure, gated community with landscaped gardens. Each individual apartment is fitted with security grills, although this is generally a very quiet and safe area unlike the busier costas.
The development comprises two blocks, and is provided with a large adult pool, a smaller children’s pool, paddle tennis courts and a children’s play area.
It needs to be noted that pools in Spain tend to be seasonal, and may not be open outside peak season. However the hotel next door has a lovely pool, and is quite relaxed about
non-residents using it, provided you buy a drink. Most of the local hotels also offer a range of spa therapies and treatments.
